Festivals offer tourists a glimpse into Agusan del Sur's rich cultural heritage. Among the well attended festivals are the Naliyagan and Santikan Festivals held every second week of June where natives from the different parts of the province display their artistry and gracefulness, all depicting Agusanon culture and heritage.

The Agusan Marsh is one of Asia's biggest marshlands and is one of the best eco-tourism destinations in the country. It is both a home to endangered flora and fauna species and a shelter for migratory birds during winter. Notable of the marsh's features are 132 bird species, 112 species of flowering plants and ferns, some being considered rare, 65 types of butterflies,2 crocodile species and the locally-known danata, a soft-shelled turtle. This wildlife sanctuary covers an area of 110,298 hectares, 65,806 of which are declared protected area.

Mountain trekking and mountaineering on Mount Diwata adds a touch of sports adventure to eco-tourism in the province. Needless to say, Agusan del Sur is one of the best destinations in the country if one wants to commune with nature: it has 34 waterfalls, 4 hot springs, 14 caves, and 34 lakes to choose from.
