Dubbed as "Gateway to Agro-forestry resources". Talacogon is rich in raw materials for small scale cottage industries. Its handicrafts have found its way not only in the local but also in the international markets. Talacogon is also the "Wood Processing Center" which caters the neighboring municipalities of La Paz and San Luis.
Talacogon's economic activity is proppeled by the presence of large companies, the Eastern Gateway Wood Development, Inc. and Provident Tree Farms, Inc.
Its populace is engaged in small scale handicraft industry making use of the nito, rattan and romblon plants that are abundant in the municipality.
