Gov. Plaza distributes P.5M assistance to barangays & school

PROSPERIDAD, AGUSAN DEL SUR – Gov. Eddiebong Plaza recently handed out checks totalling close to half-a-million pesos to seven barangays and an elementary school as support to different projects.

The governor distributed the checks in his office to the barangays of Trento, Prosperidad and San Francisco towns and one barangay of Bayugan City. The barangay captains were on hand to receive the financial assistance.

Recipients of the assistance sourced out from the 20% Provincial Development included Sta. Irene, Bayugan City which received P50,000 for the construction of stage at the Sta. Irene Elementary School and Poblacion, Trento which got P120,000 for the rehabilitation of the Poblacion-Basa-Tudela road. Las Navas of Prosperidad also received P20,000 for the installation of pipes for drainage.

For the municipality of San Francisco, P30,000 was given to New Visayas for the multi-purpose hall construction and another P50,000 was given to Pisaan as support to their youth training center construction.

Barangays San Isidro and Tagapua got P80,000 and P30,000 respectively as aid in their street lighting and covered court projects.

Another P30,000 was shelled out as initial funding for the construction of the proposed covered court of the San Francisco West Central Elementary School of Barangay 3.

In his brief message, Gov. Plaza urged the local heads to implement the projects judiciously so more support from the provincial government may be extended to them. He also stressed that more assistance to other barangays are being lined up as financial assistance to boost development in the various localities in the province. (PPIO_ADS)
